He Tried It

Have you ever felt powerless; in need of direction? Even with the direction or what you believe is the right key, do you feel as though you really cannot seem to unlock the truth of God’s Word in your life? Do you feel locked out? Has your patience been tried again and again? Well, guess what? HE TRIED IT and allowed it and it is developing your patience. Watch out now! Who tried it? God tried it! What did He allow? The development of your patience. How did He do it? Through the testing of your faith. See! You really aren’t locked out. You’ve just been trying over and over again to use your rusty old key that will not fit any lock that you try until You let the Lord do what He wants to do in and through your life. When He supplies the oil of His anointing, the key will slide right on in and turn towards your OVERWHELMING VICTORY through Jesus Christ. James 1:3 (Amplified Bible – AMP) says, “Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace].” Hmmmmm! Struggle = Peace? Just When…That’s When You Trust Him Most

Isaiah 41:10 is always one of my go to verses, but today I want to look at it from the Amplified Bible. Isaiah 41:10 (AMPC) says, “Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.” Just when God is in the process of bringing forth a tremendous out pour upon your life, that is when Satan will show up right at the finish line. But we must not fear. Why? Because there is nothing to fear. Oh yes! He will attempt to trip us up and make it seem as though what God said is not true and what is happening in our life, which is meant to turn things around and bring great joy, is not real or not really of God. But this is simply a trick of the enemy […]

Isaiah 41:10 is always one of my go to verses, but today I want to look at it from the Amplified Bible.

Isaiah 41:10 (AMPC) says,
Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.

Just when God is in the process of bringing forth a tremendous out pour upon your life, that is when Satan will show up right at the finish line. But we must not fear. Why? Because there is nothing to fear. Oh yes! He will attempt to trip us up and make it seem as though what God said is not true and what is happening in our life, which is meant to turn things around and bring great joy, is not real or not really of God. But this is simply a trick of the enemy.

I know it hurts and it feels real and it zaps the life from out of you. You just want to crawl into the bed and say, “Why God? Why?” But we must recognize the hand of Satan and remember that God is with us. We cannot begin to look around in terror and become dismayed. Because, who do we have right by our side? God! Remember? He chose us. He chose YOU! When you have been chosen then you know it’s the real deal. He wasn’t forced to love us. He is love and He chose to demonstrate that love through the greatest sacrifice that there ever was, is, or will be. It was when Jesus gave His life so that we could have life, eternally.

God’s Word says that He will strengthen us and even harden us to difficulties. That for me means that I don’t have to carry this and walk around with these feelings of heaviness. Yes, I must see this process through to the finish line. I cannot shrink back because Satan stopped in the middle of the road and started putting together the pieces of his roadblock. What he is not aware of is that God already entered different GPS coordinates that will lead me right on around what Satan is trying to do. So, he might as well take his little orange cones and put them back in his raggedy truck and move on out the way!

Although, things can become a major challenge right before the victorious blessing is completely revealed, we have to remain focused on God and the fact that He is always here to help us.

Stepping Out on Faith – God All I Want is You

(Intentional Prayer)
Pray the Scriptures: Lord, thank You for the tests and trials. Thank You for the one-on-one time that they have enabled me to spend with You. Thank You for Your strength in times of great need. As You continue to pour into my life so that I may be a blessing to others, help me to hear Your voice and it, alone, so that when You speak, I will, without hesitation, continue to step out on faith. I want to continue to climb this ladder from the pit that Satan orchestrated for me, to MY OVERWHELMING VICTORY! As You have called Abram, You have also called me to do Your will, to go to the land that You will show me. You have a purpose and a plan for my life to bless me so that I will be a blessing to others […]

No Matter Which Way The Wind May Blow

(Intentional Prayer)
Pray the Scriptures: Lord, I come to You today just as I am. Some days are a bit more challenging then others, but in the good and the bad, no matter which way the wind may blow, my response will always be to turn to You. I can rest in knowing that I belong to You. I have already won a victory over everyone and everything that comes against me, because the Spirit who lives in me is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. Thank God! You give me victory over sin and death through my Lord Jesus Christ. I can be strong and immovable. I will always work enthusiastically for You, my Lord, for I know that nothing I do for You Lord is ever useless […]

When my day does not go as planned or is interrupted with numerous disruptions that come to distract me from the joy that You bring, I will turn towards You for comfort and for strength. God, Your Word says that it is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening, so that is what I will do.

No matter which way the wind may blow, I will always turn toward You!

Remember Who You Are and Whose You Are…Build Yourself Up in Christ

When things just do not seem to be going your way, remember who you are and WHOSE you are and build yourself up in Christ. You are God’s divine child who is blessed and surrounded with His everlasting shield of love. Life in and of itself does not always leave us feeling encouraged. There may not always be someone walking beside us acting as our cheerleader, pushing and prodding us to keep the faith. No one may be shouting in our ear, “HOLD ON! BE STRONG!” We must find ourselves remembering who we are and WHOSE you are; building ourselves up in Christ Jesus. How do we do this? It always goes back to the Word of God […]

When things just do not seem to be going your way, remember who you are and WHOSE you are and build yourself up in Christ. You are God’s divine child who is blessed and surrounded with His everlasting shield of love.

MY FAITH EXPRESSIONS

Hello and Welcome to My Faith Expressions.

Here we are again, another day, another opportunity to allow the joy of the Lord to be our strength.

Word of Hope for Today:

You Can Hold On! You Can Be Strong! You Are Somebody in Christ!

Life in and of itself does not always leave us feeling encouraged. There may not always be someone walking beside us acting as our cheerleader, pushing and prodding us to keep the faith. No one may be shouting in our ear, “HOLD ON! BE STRONG!” We must find ourselves remembering who we are and WHOSE we are; building ourselves up in Christ Jesus.

How do we do this? It always goes back to the Word of God.

When we come to Christ, we are made new. Nothing from our past can harm us. Through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the slate has been wiped clean. We have been made righteous. It’s as if the sins we committed were never so.

Let us start there, by remembering the following.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) says,
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

Accordingly, first and foremost, we must remember that we are not our past mistakes or missteps. We now belong to Christ because we believed and accepted Him into our lives and He is the author and finisher of our faith. We do not need to carry the weight of sin anymore. We can focus on keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.

Tired? God will Carry Your Load

(Intentional Prayer)
Pray the Scriptures: Lord, I thank You for the ability to pile my troubles on Your shoulders, for Your Word says that You are readily accessible so that I may simply unpack my burdens and give them to You. You will take care of me. You will not permit me to slip and fall, for I am godly. Lord, I long to find that place of release in You, to truly realize and fully understand that I need not wrestle with one single thing because You have my back. You are watching over me. I desire to make this a habit, O God, so that giving everything to You becomes so much a part of my nature that it will be just like walking, talking, and breathing. In place of the anxiety and worry that has once been my constant companion, which heavily weighed me down and caused me to be in a state of pure exhaustion, God, thank You for deliverance both seen and unseen […]

Where’s the Power? Word’s Aren’t Enough…

We can’t just speak the Good News, the Holy Spirit must be present to provide the power. When we speak what God gives to us in reference to the Good News of Jesus Christ, we must make sure that our words are not just mere words, but that they are backed by the power of the Holy Spirit that is in operation within our lives. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that penetrates the hearts of those who are listening and evokes the change that begins to take place within their lives. What we have to say, even when it is truth, will not go very far if the Holy Spirit does not go along with it to break down stony hearts and cut through the chains that have many imprisoned within the chaos of their hearts and minds. Let us pray and ask God to word our mouths and let the power of the Holy Spirit do the work that it was intended to do […]

1 Thessalonians 1:1 (NLT) says,
1 This letter is from Paul, Silas, and Timothy.
We are writing to the church in Thessalonica, to you who belong to God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
May God give you grace and peace.

Many of the Thessalonians had come to believe in Christ. They experienced Salvation and experienced the Holy Spirit. Paul was unable to be there to teach them as they grew in their faith. In his need to minister to them, Paul wrote them letters such as this.

In this letter written in 1 Thessalonians chapter 1, Paul speaks on how he, Silas, and Timothy give thanks for the faith of the Thessalonian believers. As they prayed to God concerning them, they thought on their faithful work, their loving deeds, and the enduring hope they have because of the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 1:2 (NLT) says,
2 We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly. 3 As we pray to our God and Father about you, we think of your faithful work, your loving deeds, and the enduring hope you have because of our Lord Jesus Christ.

These things probably stood out to Paul because it was a demonstration of the people’s faith in God and the ultimate power of the Holy Spirit to shift the atmosphere and bring about lasting change amongst God’s people. It revealed that they trusted in the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 1:4-7 (NLT) says,
4 We know, dear brothers and sisters, that God loves you and has chosen you to be his own people. 5 For when we brought you the Good News, it was not only with words but also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave you full assurance that what we said was true. And you know of our concern for you from the way we lived when we were with you. 6 So you received the message with joy from the Holy Spirit in spite of the severe suffering it brought you. In this way, you imitated both us and the Lord. 7 As a result, you have become an example to all the believers in Greece—throughout both Macedonia and Achaia.

Paul says that when they brought the Thessalonians the Good News, it was not only with words but also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave them full assurance that what they said was true.

Today’s Lesson

(Intentional Prayer)
Pray the Scriptures: Lord, as I sit in the room with the Holy Spirit as my instructor, first I ask that You wipe the slate clean. Anything that is not like You, O Lord, I ask You to erase the board and give me a fresh start in You. Help me to be alert and to focus on the lessons that I must learn. Help me to rise early to hear what the Holy Spirit has to speak to me. I rise early, before the sun is up; I cry out for help and put my hope in Your words. As I study Your Word each day, teach me, for I am eager to learn. I am attentive to Your voice and am confident that through Your teaching, I will pass the test. Your Word, O Lord, when You send it out, it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all You want it to, and it will prosper everywhere You send it. Your Word, it brings forth life! God, Your Word speaks to me as I receive and take in all that the Holy Spirit imparts. Pick the Right Key

The Key to Overwhelming Victory is Obedience. Pick the Right Key. The above statement has been my takeaway from my wilderness experience. When God is ready to start bringing us out of our test or trial, which may not occur in a flash, it will most likely require our obedience to His Word. We have a part to play within our healing and deliverance timeline. Yes! God has a purpose and a plan and He has a set desire for when He wants to bring us through, but our actions, either good or bad, could prolong or speed up the process to our Overwhelming Victory. The goal: our faith is magnified front and center and Christ is glorified. God’s greater purpose must be fulfilled as part of our individual deliverances. He wants to use us. He wants our testimony to glorify Him. He wants us to be an example of obedience to others who may be watching our lives, trying to see the God that we say rests, rules, and abides within us […]

No Satisfaction – Not on My Watch

Count it ALL joy. Wow! This seems virtually impossible. A word that has been interchanged with count is the word consider. To consider it an opportunity for great joy is to think ahead or to look ahead. When there are tests and trials and heart wrenching struggles, there is room for God to move. Counting it all joy or considering it an opportunity for great joy is looking ahead to a better day. It’s saying, “If I’m this low now, just think about how high God can elevate the circumstances of my life.” In the midst of our trials, we have the gift of looking ahead to the joy of watching God work it for good. We can watch Him settle a situation or reverse circumstances. We can watch Him wipe the slate clean. If He did it before, He can do it again. NOT ON MY WATCH will I give Satan any satisfaction of seeing me stay down […]

James 1:2-4 (NLT), a very familiar passage of Scripture says,
2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

He Can Do It Again

When we are called by God to “Go” or “Come”, we must be obedient to the voice of the Lord. When Jesus said to the disciples “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake”, the disciples heard His voice, and according to the Scripture, without question, got into the boat and they started towards the intended destination. We, too, as did the disciples, while Jesus is constantly with us, may encounter some fierce storms. What we believe to be steps of faith after hearing the voice of God, can erupt into a shaking of our lives, leaving us in unsettled waters. Waves of disruption can seem to appear out of nowhere. What the disciples did after visibly seeing the storm with their natural eyes should not be our first response. They began to panic, but one good thing is, they knew who to call upon. “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” When Jesus heard their cry of distress, He rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Luke 8:22-24 (NLT) says,
22 One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and started out. 23 As they sailed across, Jesus settled down for a nap. But soon a fierce storm came down on the lake. The boat was filling with water, and they were in real danger.
24 The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”
When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm.

Let’s take a moment and talk about this.

When we are called by God to “Go” or “Come”, we must be obedient to the voice of the Lord. When Jesus said to the disciples “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake”, the disciples heard His voice, and according to the Scripture, without question, got into the boat and they started towards the intended destination.

Truth Be Told…God, I’m Listening

While I was doing a devotional on yesterday, I came across some Scriptures that if truth be told, are prompts to remind us that God has already provided us with a book filled with significant Words from His heart to ours. It is full to overflowing, bursting with nothing but truth. As part of our life’s experiences, we have those days where we REALLY desire to hear a significant Word from the Lord. We desire an unequivocal Word from Him to bring about change and produce an immediate shift in our atmosphere, something that will bring light into the darkness that is attempting to creep in. So, what do we have to do? We have to seek after the truth of His Word. “I’m listening. God speak to me.” […]

Through our heartfelt pursuit of God within His Word, He will illuminate what He’s already said and what He’s already done to shed light on any darkness that tries to creep into our day.

Creep…Creep…Not So…
Seek…Seek What God speaks!
Darkness is negated with the light of God’s Word!
