Pray the Scriptures – My Prayer:
Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.
Lord, as I continue along this journey of faith and dedication to the God of my salvation, I want to live a balanced life. It is my prayer that I may be effective in the things that You have called me to do; therefore, I need Your guidance and presence to be evident at all times, in everything.
Show me what to keep doing and what I must step away from so that my life will be balanced and will operate as a blessing for others.
Lord, I don’t want to be too good or too wise and destroy myself. On the other hand, I don’t want to be too wicked either. Lord, I don’t want to be a fool in my actions and die before my time. Help me to continuously pay attention to these instructions, for anyone who fears God will avoid both extremes.
God, let this be me, one who fears You and avoids the pitfalls of Satan.
Lord, I desire to walk in wisdom. Show me the way. I acknowledge You, O God, and cry out to You for wisdom. Make me wise, not so that I can think of myself as higher than others, but so that I will make the right decisions and do the right things that are pleasing in Your sight.
Lord, I want to be humble and nonjudgmental. Let the good in others be what stands out to me, and through the demonstration of Jesus Christ and all that He has done for me, I want to have a heart of compassion and understanding towards others so that they may see Your great love and desire to know what’s shining through me. Give me a spirit of prayer and intercession for others rather than to be constantly worried about me, myself, and mine.
Lord, as You direct me on how to live a balanced life, I want to be on guard; then I will not be carried away by the errors of wicked people and lose my own secure footing. Rather, I must grow in the grace and knowledge of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
So I will be careful how I live. I will not live like fools, but like those who are wise. Lord, I want to make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Make it so that I don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants me to do.
Balance my life, my Savior, so that I may be effective in the things that You have placed in my hands to carry forth.
This I pray in Jesus’ Name. Not my will but Your will be done. For Your Glory! Amen.
