Be Still and Know

Have you ever found yourself in a place of quietness, not really understanding your momentary need to shut-down, perhaps asking God, “What is it?  What is it that you want me to hear?” How do we go about acquiring direction?  What needs to occur so that we will know what move is after this? We are faced with questions, questions, and more questions. Psalm 46:10a (NLT) says, “Be still, and know that I am God!” When we reach that point of feeling as though we have nothing left to give, that feeling of blah, we must quiet ourselves and listen for the voice of the Lord […]

Have you ever found yourself in a place of quietness, not really understanding your momentary need to shut-down, perhaps asking God, “What is it?  What is it that you want me to hear?”

How do we go about acquiring direction?  What needs to occur so that we will know what move is after this?

We are faced with questions, questions, and more questions.

Psalm 46:10a (NLT) says,
“Be still, and know that I am God!”

When we reach that point of feeling as though we have nothing left to give, that feeling of blah, we must quiet ourselves and listen for the voice of the Lord.

I believe that everyone reaches that point at some time in their life, and during certain unique seasons of life, maybe even as often as on a daily basis. Our lives may be severely active and we may not know what to hang on to or what to release. In many instances, we have various things that try to come against us, all at once, and we need guidance beyond what our limited resources can handle to make things happen. Other times, the reverse is transpiring, and our lives are empty and bleak. No matter the scenario, we find ourselves stalled and unable to see one foot in front of the other. So what does God call us to do?

Be still my son, be still my daughter, and know that I am God.

We do not have the answer, but He does. We may not know whether to keep straight in the way that we are headed (Is this Your way God?), or to make a quick turn to the left or to the right in order to readjust to the path He has for us, but He desires to order our steps. He is over everything and He knows the best path to take.

Stop! Listen! Do you hear Him calling? Speak Lord, I will hear You!

Psalms 85:8 (NLT) says,
I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways.

Yahweh Rophe: The Lord Who Heals

Today I would like us to journey alongside with Yahweh Rophe, The Lord Who Heals. Our God, the one and true living God, is Yahweh Rophe, The Lord Who Heals. When we think of healing, our minds tend to turn directly to physical healing. However, God cannot and should not be limited. Healing can come in many different forms. Yes, God does heal our bodies, not just here on earth while we are able to see the results first hand, but also He heals when someone is freed from their suffering and pain. It does not always come about according to our preferred plan, but God undeniably is a healer; He is Yahweh Rophe, The Lord Who Heals […]

Yahweh Rophe: The Lord Who Heals

INTRODUCTION

As we continue to deepen our relationship with God, it is imperative that we truly know who He is. We know that He is our everything, Yes, but I would like to invite you to go on a little journey with me. The goal is to end this exploration with a better understanding and knowledge of who God is, through the study of some of the names of God.

It is my continued endeavor to grow in my faith in God and who He is, day by day. It is in the simple knowledge of who God is that my trust in Him will increase.

Today I would like us to journey alongside with Yahweh Rophe, The Lord Who Heals.

DEVOTION

Our God, the one and true living God, is Yahweh Rophe, The Lord Who Heals. When we think of healing, our minds tend to turn directly to physical healing. However, God cannot and should not be limited. Healing can come in many different forms. Yes, God does heal our bodies, not just here on earth while we are able to see the results first hand, but also He heals when someone is freed from their suffering and pain. It does not always come about according to our preferred plan, but God undeniably is a healer; He is Yahweh Rophe, The Lord Who Heals.

But how about this? God sent His Son, Jesus, who came to save those who are lost, which at one point was each and every one of us; but, in His coming, Jesus also followed the plan of His Heavenly Father so that we might be made whole while we are here to do the Father’s will. This wholeness is not just for our physical bodies, but also for our souls, which consists of our will, our heart, and our emotions. He came to heal our minds and our broken hearts. He came to heal us from our disappointment and every discouraging moment that we have endured. He came to heal us from those things that try to keep us bound.

Christ came to heal EVERY sickness and disease.

A sickness and disease can be anything that Satan has attempted to overpower us with that is not in the will of God. Anything that clouds our understanding of who God is supposed to be in our lives, is something that we need to be healed from. Some things are visibly easy to recognize within ourselves or others. But some things are kept hidden; however, they can never be hidden from God. He sees all and knows all and has provided a way to heal all.

There is healing for our sin-filled natures.

I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong.

ROMANS 7:21 NLT

That is why we need to know and call on Yahweh Rophe, The Lord Who Heals. He brings restoration and is the only One who can make us whole.

God, Use Me

(Intentional Prayer)
Pray the Scriptures: Lord, as you work in me, giving me the desire and the power to do what pleases you, provide me with the renewed strength that I need to wait on you. God, I want to cooperate with Your well-constructed and thought out plan for my life. As Elohim, God, Mighty Creator, You have arranged all that I need to get through this life, and in Your perfect sovereign will and kairos moments, El Shaddai, God Almighty, You allow these resources to flow in and out of my life […]

(Intentional Prayer)

Lord, as you work in me, giving me the desire and the power to do what pleases you, provide me with the renewed strength that I need to wait on You. God, I want to cooperate with Your well-constructed and thought out plan for my life. As Elohim, God, Mighty Creator, You have arranged all that I need to get through this life, and in Your perfect sovereign will and kairos moments, El Shaddai, God Almighty, You allow these resources to flow in and out of my life. My connection with You has ameliorated the former condition of my life.

Simply put, God, you have made things better!

El Roi, the God who Sees Me, as I aim to be a light for others that leads directly to You, I want to follow your instructions and do everything without complaining and arguing so that no one can criticize me. Aid me in living a clean life as Your child so that I may shine like a bright light in a world full of evilness. As I read and study Your Word, shower me with the know how to hold firmly to the word of life; then when Christ returns, I will be satisfied that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless.

Keep Praying

(Intentional Prayer)
Pray the Scriptures: God Your Word says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 that I should never stop praying. So, I come to You this day with my heart opened to receive. You are always faithful and Your mighty hand is here to rescue me from my distress. According to Your Word in Romans 12:2 […]

(Intentional Prayer)

Pray the Scriptures – My Prayer:

God Your Word says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 that I should never stop praying. So, I come to You this day with my heart opened to receive. You are always faithful and Your mighty hand is here to rescue me from my distress.

According to Your Word in Romans 12:2, You tell me that I am not to copy the behavior and customs of this world. Instead, I am to let You transform me into a new person by changing the way that I think. God, I ask You to get into all of my thoughts. When doubt comes, when discouragement lingers, God, I ask You to replace that with memories of Your steadfast love and Your grace and mercy that You display in my life on a daily basis. Unlike those who have not chosen you, I have something to hold on to. I already have the Victory through Jesus Christ. There is none like You. You sustain me in my storms and You cover me with Your arms of protection.
