Zechariah 4:10a (NLT) says, “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin…” When God tries to move us forward, we must be willing to receive His hand of mercy. We have to want to come out of those dark despairing places. When we are in our low places, we can find peace in knowing that God can and will deliver us from our pits. We won’t be down always if we look up to our Redeemer and cry out to Him for His help. We must be ready for the deliverance. God will not violate our wills. We must be both WILLING and OBEDIENT […]
God orders our steps.
In my post “Do not Be Afraid! It’s in Process!”, I mentioned my, well, I don’t want to say frustration, but my inability to sometimes appreciate the baby steps that God has allowed my prodigal son to take. Sometimes I grow impatient with the process, but with God, every step forward counts.
I’ve mentioned my mom before and the suddenly miracle that God performed with reconnecting her with my son. Now let’s watch how God moved with joining together he and my Dad.
The relationship with his grandson he was once so close with, even sometimes connecting more as father and son, has been strained and somewhat shattered due to Satan’s evil plan to bring division and separation within the family. Satan has attempted to try to isolate my son, and during those times of isolation have tried and tried to strip him of the plan that God has for his life.
I know that I tend to use that phrase a lot, but God! There is no other way to describe it. If it isn’t for God moving in certain area’s of our lives, change would not occur. When things have crumbled and fallen apart, our best resolution is to turn to the one who can do something about it.
My dad called me excited and overjoyed because he had reached out to my son and after months of not being able to connect with him, all at once, my son responded. It was as if no time had passed. The laughter began, the connection renewed, the love of God was shining through. It’s still a work in process or progress, meaning the process is progressing, but every step counts.
RESULT: One step forward!
Satan’s attempt is stamped: FAILED.
Job 31:4 (NLT) says,
Doesn’t he see everything I do
and every step I take?
God sees it all. He sees when we stray from Him and because of His love for us, we as His children are often chastised as a Father disciplines his children. But it is God’s ultimate goal and plan to draw us back to Him. He wants to order our steps and allow us to experience the abundant joy of knowing who He is in our lives.
Proverbs 3:12 (NLT) says,
For the Lord corrects those he loves,
just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.
God has a plan of correction so that we may walk as His children; obedient and strong. Continue reading “Every Step Forward Counts”
