You’ve Been Accepted: Partnership Agreement with Jesus Christ

1 Corinthians 1:9 (NLT) says, “God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” Being in partnership with Jesus Christ fits all of the pieces of our lives together like that of a puzzle. It does not matter how many scattered parts of your life there are, God has a place for each piece. He connects them together to form a beautiful picture of your life in Christ Jesus. Once we are in agreement with Him, our lives flow more smoothly and in the right direction […]

Being in partnership with Jesus Christ fits all of the pieces of our lives together like that of a puzzle. It does not matter how many scattered parts of your life there are, God has a place for each piece. He connects them together to form a beautiful picture of your life in Christ Jesus. Once we are in agreement with Him, our lives flow more smoothly and in the right direction. We are no longer going against the current. All of our steps proceed according to God’s will and plan for our lives.

What an amazing partnership this is!

1 Corinthians 1:9 (NLT) says,
God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Naming of the Partnership

In an earthly partnership, one of the first things you must do is agree on a name for your partnership. Last names can be used, such as Smith & Wesson, or a fictitious name can be adopted. When we entered into our partnership with Jesus Christ our Lord, we took on His name, His identity; we became God’s child and now are in relationship or partnership with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three are one.

I thought about some names that could possibly be used:

  • Blessed to be a Blessing
  • Jesus Christ Victory Central
  • Deliverance HQ (Headquarters)
  • No Longer Bound War Room
  • Face to Face in the Place
  • Heavenly Way the Only Way

These names are interchangeable and can be referred to at any time in reference to the partnership. When you say them, you know that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are present in the board room with you.

Yahweh Rophe: The Lord Who Heals

Today I would like us to journey alongside with Yahweh Rophe, The Lord Who Heals. Our God, the one and true living God, is Yahweh Rophe, The Lord Who Heals. When we think of healing, our minds tend to turn directly to physical healing. However, God cannot and should not be limited. Healing can come in many different forms. Yes, God does heal our bodies, not just here on earth while we are able to see the results first hand, but also He heals when someone is freed from their suffering and pain. It does not always come about according to our preferred plan, but God undeniably is a healer; He is Yahweh Rophe, The Lord Who Heals […]

Yahweh Rophe: The Lord Who Heals

INTRODUCTION

As we continue to deepen our relationship with God, it is imperative that we truly know who He is. We know that He is our everything, Yes, but I would like to invite you to go on a little journey with me. The goal is to end this exploration with a better understanding and knowledge of who God is, through the study of some of the names of God.

It is my continued endeavor to grow in my faith in God and who He is, day by day. It is in the simple knowledge of who God is that my trust in Him will increase.

Today I would like us to journey alongside with Yahweh Rophe, The Lord Who Heals.

DEVOTION

Our God, the one and true living God, is Yahweh Rophe, The Lord Who Heals. When we think of healing, our minds tend to turn directly to physical healing. However, God cannot and should not be limited. Healing can come in many different forms. Yes, God does heal our bodies, not just here on earth while we are able to see the results first hand, but also He heals when someone is freed from their suffering and pain. It does not always come about according to our preferred plan, but God undeniably is a healer; He is Yahweh Rophe, The Lord Who Heals.

But how about this? God sent His Son, Jesus, who came to save those who are lost, which at one point was each and every one of us; but, in His coming, Jesus also followed the plan of His Heavenly Father so that we might be made whole while we are here to do the Father’s will. This wholeness is not just for our physical bodies, but also for our souls, which consists of our will, our heart, and our emotions. He came to heal our minds and our broken hearts. He came to heal us from our disappointment and every discouraging moment that we have endured. He came to heal us from those things that try to keep us bound.

Christ came to heal EVERY sickness and disease.

A sickness and disease can be anything that Satan has attempted to overpower us with that is not in the will of God. Anything that clouds our understanding of who God is supposed to be in our lives, is something that we need to be healed from. Some things are visibly easy to recognize within ourselves or others. But some things are kept hidden; however, they can never be hidden from God. He sees all and knows all and has provided a way to heal all.

There is healing for our sin-filled natures.

I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong.

ROMANS 7:21 NLT

That is why we need to know and call on Yahweh Rophe, The Lord Who Heals. He brings restoration and is the only One who can make us whole.

Have Joy Much? You Choose!

(Intentional Prayer)
Pray the Scriptures: Lord, oh the joy that fills my soul. Lord, You have promised me that I can have joy even in the midst of everything that comes my way. Pray the Scriptures – My Prayer:

Lord, oh the joy that fills my soul. Lord, You have promised me that I can have joy even in the midst of everything that comes my way. Lord, there are times when life can become overwhelming and my heart grows weary. You never said that life would be easy; but, because You are omnipresent, always with me, I can take refuge in You. God Your Word tells me that those who take refuge in You have every right to rejoice. I can sing joyful praises forever.

I will rejoice in the Lord, the God of my salvation!

God, I pray and I petition for your protection to be spread over me and those who are Your children, so that all who love your name may be filled with joy. For you bless the godly, O Lord; you surround them with your shield of love.

Lord, waiting can be strenuous. Waiting is a test of my faith and the process sometimes puts me in difficult and trying situations, in which the joy and hope that I long to exhibit escapes me. Yet, when I become weak in my faith, I can celebrate because the joy of the Lord is my strength. I am renewed in my spirit and I can begin a new day knowing that You are close to the brokenhearted and You save those who are crushed in spirit.

Heavenly Benefits Package: You are Set Free

I have exciting news for you! When we accepted the offer of salvation that was made to us, we became recipients of a “Heavenly” benefits package. When we said Yes Lord, we received a benefits plan filled with exciting, reliable, and unique advantages to meet our every day needs […]

It’s your first day in your new position. Orientation has just begun. You are so worried about doing a great job and living up to your employers’ expectations that you’re not fully focused on this part. Your immediate goal is to impress everyone and really show them what you have to offer.

First stop, the Human Resources department. The HR representative is moving pretty fast. You hear words, but you aren’t really as attentive as you should be. You are not quite catching all of the benefits available to you. “Sign here please. Sign there. Here’s your copy.”

fotolia_225964627_larger

You make a mental note to read it all later; but for now, you’re ready to jump right in to the work of it all; what you feel is most critical.

I have exciting news for you! When we accepted the offer of salvation that was made to us, we became recipients of a “Heavenly” benefits package. However, it’s not our “works” that allow us to receive them, but God’s great love for us simply because we believe.

It may not be our first day in our new position in Christ, but guess what, we will never forget or misplace the benefits that are available to us. We have God’s Word (the Bible) as our handbook to review these rewards and blessings on a daily basis. We aren’t placed here to impress God or to show Him what we have to offer. We, His children, are the intended recipients of all of Christ’s work on the cross; his death, burial, and resurrection. We get to sit back and enjoy all of the benefits upon belief in Him. Once you have received Him as your personal savior and are ready to walk this life with Him as your guide, your benefits package is initiated, and your name is logged as a beneficiary.

Romans 8:17 (NLT) says,
And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

When we said Yes Lord, we received a benefits plan filled with exciting, reliable, and unique advantages to meet our everyday needs.

Let’s review our plan received on our first day with Christ.

God Almighty, You have been wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient with me, even during my times of impatience with You.

Yes, Lord, this means everything to me!

Thank You for never giving up on me. Thank You for wanting me to be delivered from my old nature so that I could become a new creation in You. Because I belong to Christ I have become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

Let God Take The Crumbs and Fill You Up

Discouragement, on occasion, comes, even in the journey of a born again follower of Jesus, our resurrected Savior. God created us and He knows that more often than not, Satan will attempt to take over our thoughts and leave us in a place of perceiving as though we are forever surrounded with nothingness; just the meager crumbs handed to us on the plate of life […]

On a not so pleasant day, our human nature that is still a part of who we are, even as believers in Christ, can get the best of us.

With tears streaming down my face, I found myself reflecting on the current status of my life. I strive not to complain because things could be so much worse, and they have been, in different aspects of my wilderness experience; and it is so, for others, right now. Nevertheless, sometimes I find myself with an uncontrollable need to vent, be that as it may, just to find some type of relief and a reason to keep advancing through the ordeals of my existence.

Discouragement, on occasion, comes, even in the journey of a born again follower of Jesus, our resurrected Savior. God created us and He knows that more often than not, Satan will attempt to take over our thoughts and leave us in a place of perceiving as though we are forever surrounded with nothingness; just the meager crumbs handed to us on the plate of life. We were warned of this. God’s Word clearly states that Satan comes to steal and kill and destroy, but Christ came that we may have life, and have it to the full.

It was a conversation that I was having with my mom, as I drove the same road home that I drive every day. I came to the realization that in this season of my life, there is rarely an abundance, but rather an unending experience of crumbs. I find this to be currently true in my relationship with my son, in relationships with others, and in the resources that should be available to me for sustenance in this life. There never seems to be enough to nourish me or fill me up.

What am I supposed to do with these crumbs?

Let’s take a look at the Faith of a Canaanite Woman in the Bible. We find in Matthew 15:21-28, when Jesus journeyed to the region of Tyre and Sidon, a woman came crying to Him for help. You see, she too, was trying to make sense of the crumbs she was given. Her daughter was demon-possessed and was suffering terribly. She had an urgent need and the only one who could meet that need was Jesus. But, He did not answer her. He was silent.

Although sin entered the world and Satan attempted to steal what You have for me, Your purpose is being fulfilled in my life and the glory that You will reveal to me later will have made it all worth while.

Pray the Scriptures – My Prayer:

God Your Word says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 that I should never stop praying. So, I come to You this day with my heart opened to receive. You are always faithful and Your mighty hand is here to rescue me from my distress.

According to Your Word in Romans 12:2, You tell me that I am not to copy the behavior and customs of this world. Instead, I am to let You transform me into a new person by changing the way that I think. God, I ask You to get into all of my thoughts. When doubt comes, when discouragement lingers, God, I ask You to replace that with memories of Your steadfast love and Your grace and mercy that You display in my life on a daily basis. Unlike those who have not chosen you, I have something to hold on to. I already have the Victory through Jesus Christ. There is none like You. You sustain me in my storms and You cover me with Your arms of protection.

Don’t Give Up, Believe

The thought, “Don’t Give Up, Believe” has really been in my spirit for the last several days. It seems, at times, that we are flooded with the cares of this life and so much is coming at us at one time. We can start to drag and the thought of giving up may enter our hearts and minds.

At my desk at work, I have several flip calendars with Scriptures and words of inspiration on them. Today’s word from the “God’s Got It” Tony Evans Inspirational Dayspring Daybrightener says, “When Satan attempts to overwhelm you, remind him that you overwhelmingly conquer through Jesus Christ.” That really lifted me up today and solidified that giving up is never an option. Though this thought may cross our minds from time-to-time, we must push forward and persevere to receive the promises of God.

Hebrews 10:36 New Living Translation (NLT) says,
Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.

After all that you have endured on this journey, don’t you want to follow through with patient endurance, doing the will of God, so that you will receive ALL that he has promised?

I know that I do. Too much time has passed, too many resources have been invested, too many steps forward have been taken to turn back now. I will not give Satan that satisfaction. I am more than a conqueror and I will have OVERWHELMING VICTORY!

God, I Trust You

(Intentional Prayer)
Pray the Scriptures: Lord, I am choosing this day to trust you. The promises in Your Word are true. God Your Word says in Isaiah 55:11, “So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” […]

God, this year, you have sent forth your prophetic Word into and about my life. A year of OVERWHELMING VICTORY is mine, if I am willing to position myself for transition, grow in You, and have a “right now” faith, in a “right now” God, for a “right now” miracle. God, I believe it and I receive it.

Suddenly

Hebrews 11:1 New Living Translation (NLT) says,11 Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. In my post titled “As Promised…The Importance of the Spirit Filled Life”, I spoke about a prayer that I have been praying, now for 48 days …

Hebrews 11:1 New Living Translation (NLT) says,
11 Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.

In my post titled “As Promised…The Importance of the Spirit Filled Life”, I spoke about a prayer that I have been praying, now for 48 days.

“Lord, as I move forward in life, knowing that in your sovereignty, you have a plan for my life, help me to cooperate with that plan and see the providence, which are the things you set up and connect or intersect together to make things happen, let me see that every step of the way. Transform me to receive what you have for me and to be ready for the miracles you are about to perform. Overwhelming Victory!”

I believe that I have been growing in the area of cooperating with God, but do you see the phrases “see the providence” and “to be ready for the miracles you are about to perform”? “Seeing” here is not actually always seeing with my eyes (the finished work, what God has already done), but seeing through eyes of faith, while I am waiting on what God is going to do (His perfect will manifested in my life).

Even when I cannot see it, where does my hope lie? Can I see it in the Spirit? Will I choose to have faith in the God in which I pray and see His hand in even the smallest of things?

And by the way, any movement of God is nothing small. It is mighty, especially since, if we could do it ourselves, we wouldn’t need him. But we do need Him in every area of our lives. We simply cannot make it without Him. It is His power and His unfailing love for us that makes the things that we pray for happen in our lives. Even when we don’t know what to pray, God’s Word says,

Romans 8:26 New Living Translation (NLT)
26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.

The Holy Spirit living inside of us prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. How amazing is this! When our prayers are off base, the Holy Spirit helps to align them to the will of God for our lives. This goes back to the importance of praying. We do not have to have some magical words or the right grammar. Sometimes, all we may know to say is, “Jesus, help me”. The Spirit will translate that for us to our Heavenly Father and Jesus our intercessor will mediate between God, the Father, and us. This is so awesome! Wow, just powerful!

Filter Life through God’s Promises

There are times when I become fearful, but Your Word says in Judges 6:12, “The Lord is with you…” Lord, I know that you will never leave me nor forsake me. You are always right here with me, giving me strength to press forward and hope for a brighter future. I know that according to John 16:33, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” So, God, I know that I am safe with You and I can put my total trust in You because You are in control.

No More

Romans 8:23‭-‬25 NLT says,
And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us. We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.)

Ummmm! Patience. Huh? Could you repeat that please?

P-A-T-I-E-N-C-E

Am I really waiting patiently if I cannot stop complaining?

Am I hoping for what I do not see while giving God thanks for all that He has already done, knowing that He is faithful and He will come through for me again and again and again?

Am I remembering that Christ suffered and as such, so will I?

This morning, I was reading through my prayer devotional. I cannot recall exactly what I read in that moment where I just began thanking God for what He has already done. All I  can remember is this spirit of thankfulness coming over me. Instead of focusing on my suffering, which is nothing in comparison to all that Christ endured for me, I began to focus on the faithfulness of God. I remembered that “No More” should I be complaining, because I have so much to be thankful for.

As Promised…The Importance of the Spirit Filled Life

So, here it is…my panel presentation, as promised. If you are not sure what I am referring to, please read my post entitled Wilderness Experience.

Theme: “The Importance of the Spirit Filled Life”

Topic: “Undertaking the Spirit Filled Life”

There must be a willingness to:

  1. Separate from all sin – 2 Corinthians 6:14-17
  2. Surrender to his service – Romans 12:1-2
  3. Saturate with the Scriptures – Psalm 1:1-2
  4. Stand upon his saying – John 7:37-39

There are those special preachers, teachers, missionaries and evangelists of the Gospel who are called to lead a larger group of individuals; then there is this group called “us’s” who God uses in our smaller circles of influence and that is the direction or focus that my topic has taken for this evening. So, I hope that it is beneficial to someone in the room.

My Topic is: Undertaking the Spirit Filled Life.

In order to undertake the Spirit filled life, there must be a willingness to SEPARATE FROM ALL SIN.

2 Corinthians 6:14-17 (NLT) says:

The Temple of the Living God
14Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? 15What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? 16And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said:
“I will live in them
and walk among them.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
17Therefore, come out from among unbelievers,
and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord.
Don’t touch their filthy things,
and I will welcome you.

When we confess our sins to God and accept Jesus as our personal Savior, we are free and separated from a sinful life. We are not someone who cannot sin, but someone who is no longer a slave to sin. We belong to God. We have chosen to turn from sin and to accept the gift of Salvation that is offered to everyone. True repentance of sin means to turn 180 degrees and not look back. It is a change of heart and we need the Spirit of God to cause that change to occur. Continue reading “As Promised…The Importance of the Spirit Filled Life”
